Okra with Olive Oil

 Olive-Oil Okra Vegan Anatolian Appetizer


  • Okra (1 Kilogram)

  • Garlic (4 Gloves)
  • Onion (2 Pieces)
  • Tomato (4 Pieces)
  • Olive Oil (Half of Watercup)
  • Red Pepper Paste (1 Tablespoon)
  • Hot water (2 Watercup)
  • Lemon Juice (Half of Watercup)
  • Powdered Sugar (2 Teaspoons)
  • Salt (1 Teaspoon)

How to Cook Olive-Oil Okra? Anatolian Vegan Main Dish

    1. We cut the stem sections of okra in a cone shape and clean.
    2. We wash in plenty of water and drain the water.
    3. We crush our four cloves of garlic, chop our 2 onions into thin cube. We peel the skin of our 3-4 tomatoes first and then cut them into cubes.
    4. We heat the olive oil in a saucepan and then mix the onion and garlic until it turns pink
    5. Then we add tomato paste and continue to mix.
    6. We add the tomatoes and cook until thickened.
    7. After that, we can add our okra. We add hot water and salt and close the lid of the saucepan.
    8. After cooking for 25 minutes on medium heat and when the okra becomes soft, we add lemon juice and  granulated sugar.
   9. We cook it for 5 more minutes and take it from the stove.
  10. Also we can serve cold.
