 Rice with Vegetables-Anatolian Vegan Vegetables Pilav


  • Vegan Margarin (3 Tablespoons)
  • Olive Oil (1 Tablespoon)
  • Rice (2 Water Cup)
  • Carrot (1 Piece)
  • Red Pepper (1 Piece)
  • Cowpea (1 Water Cup)
  • Green Pea (1/2 Water Cup)
  • Salt (2 Teaspoons)
  • Black Pepper (2 Teaspoons)
  • Turmeric (1 Teaspoon-Optional)
  • Hot Water (2,5 Water Cup)

How to Cook Rice Pilaf with Vegetables? Traditional Anatolian Vegan Pilav Recipe

  1. Firstly, to get to excess starch of the rice, wash it with plenty of water and drain it.
  2. Add margarin and liquid oil into the rice pan and heat it.
  3. Add the carrots, red pepper and cowpea and saute.
  4. Then add the strained rice and sauteing until the rice are becomes transparent.
  5. Add salt, black pepper, turmeric and green pea, add boiling water and mix them.
  6. Cover the lid of the rice pan and let it cook for 10 minutes on high heat before boiling, then on low heat until they boils.
  7. Turn off the heat, put a clean cloth or towel paper on the rice pan, close the lid and leave rice to brew.
